Nashi Des is the third of six children, born in California late in the year 1985 but having lived in sunny Arizona since early 1986. She's always had fragile health, suffering from several illnesses including a rather severe case of asthma, but the seclusion caused by her condition served as a fantastic catalyst for her artistic ability. Unable to go outside and see the world with her brothers and sisters, Nashi learned to grow and design worlds and people all her own. This same limitation on her ability to go outside urged her into learning the Ways of the Internet at a fairly young age, and it's through this wonderful display of human ingenuity and technological wonder that she met an amazing artist by the name of Blu, who changed Nashi's life in more ways than Blu will probably ever know.
When she's not writing or drawing, Nashi can usually be found reading, roleplaying online or playing video games. Her favorites include the Jak and Daxter series, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy VIII and most variations on The Legend of Zelda. Oddly enough, in spite of her fantasy obsession and the rarity with which she watches television, Nashi's favorite films include The Warriors, Hatari! and Donovan's Reef, and her favorite television shows consist almost entirely of various incarnations of the CSI series, and almost anything featured on the Discovery or History channels.
Although Nashi has yet to attend art school, she's anything but self taught; daughter of wildlife and fantasy artist Seeta Anarishkwa, Nashi has had more than enough guidance and education for her to have the second highest marks in her Advanced Placement Art class in high school and professionally exhibit her work for over a decade. She had her first gallery show at thirteen, with a panel alongside her mother, and has been hopping around the convention scene with her work ever since.
Her primary focus is fantasy, although you'll rarely see a proper dragon or unicorn in Nashi's galleries. Rather, she has her own universes and her own races in them; from unicorn-elf hybrids to multipodal mermaids, these worlds of hers are bright, colorful, and anything but run-of-the-mill.
